Located about 18 km from the center of the capital city of Rio Branco, the Rio Branco International airport is the main airfield in the state of Acre. It has a runway with 2,158 meters long and serves domestic, international, general and military aviation, with regular airline operations and an important number of air cabs.

Rio Branco is the westernmost capital of the country and lies on the banks of the Acre River, which gives the state its name. It is located on the triple border between Brazil, Peru and Bolivia and has a time zone different from Brasilia, being two hours behind the federal capital. Rio Branco airport integrated VINCI Airports network in January 2022 under a 30-year concession contract awarded by Brazilian civil aviation in April 2021.
